1. A challenging hike with exceptional views!
Heading to the Aiguille Percée: a must-do hike from Tignes to a peak with a unique geological formation!
- Starting point – Palafour chairlift in Tignes-le-Lac.
Let's set off on a hike with 700 meters of elevation gain! We'll take you along to show you the must-see viewpoints:
At La Croix, it’s time for a quick break to take in the view of Lake Tignes and the Tufs!

- Take the route that goes past Lac du Chardonnet: the more adventurous can dip their feet in the water, while others will enjoy the coolness and the view of the many peaks! Can you spot the Grande-Motte and Sassière glaciers?

- Tackle the second part of the climb toward the summit of Palafour, where we recommend taking a well-deserved picnic break. The best part? A 360° panoramic view!
- Let’s set off on the final ascent to the summit of the Aiguille Percée, which rises to 2,740 meters! If the weather is clear, you’ll surely have the chance to see Mont Blanc… For the descent, there are several very well-marked trails to choose from. It’s up to you to decide how to wrap up this beautiful day.

2. A family walk to the summit…

Watch out for your eyes: there are breathtaking views all along this walk. Once you reach the summit, you’ll have several options to choose from.
- Some people will enjoy hiking along the ridges to admire the mountain peaks. Taking a short break in the sunshine to take in these views is a great idea! You can take the gondolas back down.
- Others may prefer to set out on a longer, family-friendly loop! To do so, head toward the Col de Fresse, where you’ll turn off toward Val d’Isère. The trail is rolling and doesn’t present any particular challenges. And who knows? You might even be lucky enough to spot some animals!

3. A stroll along the water in Tignes
Perhaps you've already wondered where to go swimming in Tignes?
What if we told you there’s a turquoise lagoon just a 30-minute walk from the Tignes resort?
- Starting Point – Route de la Ferme
Quite unusual: the hike starts with a descent! To reach the Gouille du Salin, stay on the trail on the right. After about half an hour of walking, you’ll discover this idyllic spot with crystal-clear water. Maybe the bravest among you will dare to take a dip there?
- After this refreshing break, retrace your steps and take the trail that leads down to the Gouille du Salin waterfall. Part of the route follows the botanical trail, which is especially full of flowers in July!
- Want to keep going? After the waterfall, continue your descent to Lac du Chevril, where you’ll find a trail that runs along the shore. The return trip via the Balcons du Bois de la Laye offers lovely views of this turquoise-watered lake.
